Agreement on reconstruction of Novi Pazar-Tutin road signed

The commercial agreement on the reconstruction of the Novi Pazar-Tutin state road was signed yesterday with the Turkish company Tasyapi. The agreement was signed by Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic, the company's president, Emrulah Turanli, and the acting director of the PE Roads of Serbia, Zoran Drobnjak.

– Today we are starting the implementation of the first project with Tasyapi, worth EUR 24 million. The agreement we've signed today entails the preparation of the preliminary design and the detailed regulation plan and the execution of works on a 20.5-km section – Mihajlovic stated.

She said that several documents had been necessary for the realization of the project to begin, primarily the Agreement on Cooperation in Infrastructural Projects between the two governments, the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the said ministry and Tasyapi, signed this May, and the recently signed Framework Agreement between the Government of Serbia and the Turkish company.

Zorana Mihajlovic emphasized that the reconstruction of the Novi Pazar-Tutin road was very important for more than 150,000 citizens who live in this part of Serbia.

– Road safety is the first priority, but it is also important to establish connections that will accelerate the flow of goods and traveling. I believe that the contractor will do everything in its power to provide citizens with a good road – she said.

The signing was attended by Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of Serbia Rasim Ljajic and Ambassador of Turkey to Serbia Tanju Bilgic.
