"Familija market" to invest 6m EUR in retail stores in Serbia
Market chain "Familija market" announced that it
would invest over 6m EUR in the opening of about 27 facilities in Serbia in
2009.
The Director of “Familija market”, Dijana Trajković, told Beta agency that four
markets had already been opened in Belgrade and one in Užice.
- We are going to open supermarkets in Knjaževac, Bajina Bašta, Bor, Leskovac,
Kragujevac, Kraljevo, Valjevo, Zaječar, Niš, Kikinda, Bačka Topola, Subotica,
Požarevac, Jagodina, Vranje, Kula, Pirot, Smederevska Palanka and Sombor this
year – said she.
As she explained, exclusive supermarket “Dragstor” will be Nušićeva Street in
Belgrade by the end of year 2009, as well as megamarket in New Belgrade and
supermarket "Fontana", also in New Belgrade.
According to her words, “Familija Dragstor” and a wine shop will be opened in
the passage at Terazije.
- That will be the place where foreigners will be able to buy primarily domestic products and to bring them home as souvenirs – said Trajković.
She said that "Familija market" was dedicated to local market for the time being and that it still had no plans for expansion outside the borders of Serbia.
When asked if "Familija market" was going to offer lower prices to the consumers, Trajković said that that market would be “somewhere in the middle” as far as prices were concerned.
