Vojvodina and Olomouc Region improving mutual relations – Chance for further economic cooperation development

Vice-President of the Provincial Government of Vojvodina and Provincial Secretary for Economy and Tourism, Ivan Djokovic is in a working visit to Czech republic, in the capital of Olomouc region which hosted the 100th anniversary from the foundation of independent Czechoslovakia this year. This important anniversary on September 1 was marked with many activities and a reception as well as a rich cultural content and events.

On this occasion Djokovic met with the governor of Olomouc region, Ladislav Okleštěk, and the representatives of the regional government. They talked about improving relationship between Vojvodina and Olomouc region, and deepening the business, political, economic and cultural cooperation.

Autonomous Province Vojvodina and Czech Olomouc Region, which is one of the 13 Czech regions, the highest-level administrative units in Czech Republic, signed an Agreement on cooperation in December 2003 guided by international contracts and agreements between Federal republic of Yugoslavia and Czech Republic.

This cooperation between the two regions represents a necessary condition for cultural, social and economic development of both regions and its main goal is deepening the mutual relationship by creating conditions for effective cooperation of their institutions, economic subjects and social organizations as well as other institutions in the sectors of economy, entrepreneurship, tourism, culture and arts, science ,technological development, education, youth, sport, health and social care and the joint participation in various exhibitions and fairs.
