Budget surplus in 1H 2018 at RSD 30.9 billion

In the period from January till June 2018, Serbia realized a budget surplus of RSD 30.9 billion, as shown by the recent data of the Ministry of Finance, according to which the collected revenues amount to RSD 566.9 billion, whereas the expenditures equal RSD 536 billion.

In June, the budget surplus amounted to RSD 22.1 billion, and income amounted to RSD 121.2 billion, of which tax revenues amounted to RSD 99.5 billion.

The revenues collected in June, amounting to RSD 24.2 billion, indicate that this year's income tax revenues will exceed the planned budget amounts, the Ministry of Finance says in its press release.

VAT revenues in June amounted to RSD 42.1 billion, whereas excise tax revenues equaled RSD 23.2 billion. They add that donations amounted to RSD 0.5 billion.

The data shows that the expenditures amount to RSD 99 billion, with employee expenditures amounting to RSD 21.6 billion, whereas transfers to the mandatory social insurance organizations (the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, the National Health Insurance Fund, the National Employment Service and the Fund for Military Social Insurance) amounted to RSD 19 billion. Capital expenditures amounted to RSD 14.2 billion.

On a state level, a fiscal surplus of RSD 32.9 billion (1.5% of the GDP) and the primary fiscal surplus in the amount of RSD 96.8 billion (4.4% of the GDP) were recorded in the first half of the year.

According to the annual state budget plan, a deficit of RSD 9.4 billion is planned for the first half of the year, which means that the realized result is better by RSD 42.3 billion.
