Sports and recreation center in Trgoviste remains in planning stages – Plan includes two pools, team sports courts...

Trgoviste has been waiting for a sports and recreation center for several years now. The center should feature two pools, auxiliary facilities, handball, volleyball and tennis courts, as well as a football field with stands.

Due to a lack of funds, however, this big project in the southern Serbian municipality has not yet been realized.

The project documentation for the first and the second phase, as the local self-government says for our portal, was prepared back in 2016. Nis-based SDF Castell was chosen as the main designer at the time.

– Last year, we applied for the funds from the Iterreg project with Bulgaria. Unfortunately, we didn't receive the money – the municipality says for eKapija.

According to their estimates, RSD 50 million is needed for the construction of the pool and the auxiliary facilities, but the municipality doesn't have the money.

Roughly the same amount would be required for the construction of the football field with 100 seats. The project documentation for the football field is currently being prepared.
