The growth of the value of the construction works executed in Serbia in the first half of the current year amounts to 25%, considerably exceeding the growth rates in other sectors that have contributed to the growth of the gross domestic product (GDP) of 4.5%, the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure announced today.

– After the growth of construction works of 28.1% realized in the first quarter of 2018, the growth of 23.1% was recorded in the second quarter – the press release says.

It is added that the most intensive works had been carried out on corridors and in residential construction, and those two sectors are expected to continue pushing the growth of the construction sector in the second half of the year as well.

– This is confirmed by the data on budget realization for projects followed by the ministry, where 48% of the available funds were realized in the first six months of 2018, amounting to 35.45 of the planned 74 billion dinars – the press release adds.

The current dynamic of the spending of planned budget funds is also expected to continue in the second half of the year, whereas the total funds available will increase thanks to the financing of the project of the construction of apartments for security force members.
