Tender for 'Duvan' from Ljubovija

Share holders' company "Duvan" from Ljubovija has been offered on tender, and final deadline for offers for the purchase of 64,78% of the capital is April, 24th, 2009, as it was announced by the Agency for privatization.

The condition for participation on this tender is that the potential buyer is involved in production of tobacco products (fermentation and processing of tobacco) in the last three business years, and that it had made a profit in 2008 larger than 1,5 million euros. Possible buyers may be investors as well, if they made a profit larger than 3 million euros in 2008.

The Agency invited all interested parties who wish to participate on this tender, to submit their requests for purchase of tender documentation, by March, 27th, which can be taken two weeks earlier (March, 9th). As a precondition for submitting of offers, it is necessary to make a deposit payment or auction guarantee in the amount of 50.000 euros.

"Duvan" company from Ljubovija was founded in 1954. At the beginning it based its activities in breeding "berley" kind, and in 1974 it transferred to "light virginia" kind. "Duvan" used to be a part of "Nis tabak" organization, from Nis, after merging of companies for processing of tobacco on Serbian territory.

The most significant years for the company are 1985, when it built factory for thermal processing of tobacco, and 1994, when it built a compartment for drying of tobacco. In 2006, the company bought and processed 2.999 tones of "virgina" kind and 40 tones of "berley" kind, after which it made around 1.661 tones of fermented tobacco.
