Decision about building land in Belgrade adopted – more efficient application of Law on planning and construction
The Board members of the City Assembly of Belgrade adopted the new Decision about
building land yesterday (February 12, 2009). The existing decision has been
treating only the building land on the territory of ten city boroughs. However,
according to the new Statute of the city of Belgrade, the Directorate for
Building Land and Development of Belgrade is also responsible for building land
in boroughs of Lazarevac, Grocka, Mladenovac, Sopot, Surčin, Barajevo and Obrenovac.
- Having analyzed the existing decisions, we came to the conclusion that there
were great differences in both calculation and payment of rent and payment of
fee for organization of building land. Therefore, we needed to bring the
criteria in accord by unique decision. However, we found it better to have two
separate documents to regulate the issues of rent and fee for organization of
building land, so that we now have the decision about organization of rental
area and the decision about fee for use of building land – said Oliver Glišić, a
member of the City Council.
This decision ensures more efficient application of the Law on planning and construction, and it regulates the procedure and method of rental of city building land in unique way for all Belgrade’s boroughs, as well as the rent payment method and the terms of lease contract.
The decision stipulates that the building land must be offered for rent on public tender in case when the gross surface of the facility under construction does not exceed 10,000 square meters.
