Serbia can now once again export pears to Russia, Minister of Agriculture Branislav Nedimovic stated yesterday for Tanjug and pointed out that the export of pears to Russia had been halted in the preceding period, not banned.

– Thanks to the cooperation between the competent inspection authorities of Serbia and Russia, all the uncertainties have been resolved in the meantime and the export of pears can now continue – Nedimovic said.

Russia has extend the ban on the import of certain types of food from the EU until December 31, 2019, says the decree signed by Russian President Valdimir Putin, Reuters writes, as reported by Tanjug.

The agency reminds that the Russian government banned wholesale imports of fresh food products from the European Union in 2014 in retaliation for Western states imposing sanctions on Russia over its annexation of Crimea and support for separatists in eastern Ukraine.

Russia has also removed the ban on the import of apples from B&H to Russia. As the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of B&H, Mirko Sarovic, announced, Russians will visit B&H in the upcoming period to make sure of the amounts the country has and intends to export to Russia, Klix reports.
