Suncokret Hajdukovo agrees export to America, new products planned – Founder Ivan Percic pronounced Blic Entrepreneur

The daily newspaper Blic has organized the contest for the best entrepreneur in Serbia for the eleventh year in a row, and Suncokret Hajdukovo is this year's winner.

The Hajdukovo-based company was founded 29 years ago by Ivan Percic, who said on this occasion that a lot of effort had been invested in the company.

– We started back in the 1980s when the concept of health food was unknown. We went through difficult years of isolation and sanctions, so just persevering for 30 years is a success. Now the circumstances work in our favor as health food and fitness are the trend – he said.

Percic also said that he had just returned from the New York organic food fair, where he agreed export to America.

– The company's further development will focus on investments in new fitness products, enriched with proteins. We have just launched two such products and there will be more – Percic said.

The companies shortlisted for the Blic Entrepreneur 2017 award were Suncokret Hajdukovo, Radex Jagodina, MTK Metal-Komerc Uzice, Top Spider d.o.o. Indjija, Mlekara Moravica Arilje, IDAS d.o.o. Mol, Ukras d.o.o. Veliki Popovic, Re3 – Product DOO Plandiste, FMO Ukus Kovacica and Zica Promet Arandjelovac.

The criteria were profitability, productivity, solvency, export potential, number of employees and new employees, technological innovations and orientation towards environmental protection and contribution to the development of the local community.

The winner received the award of RSD 1,000,000, provided by the partner of the contest, Eurobank Serbia.
