Russians interested in Jugoremedija

The bankruptcy supervisor of the Zrenjanin-based pharmaceutical factory Jugoremedija, Radovan Savic, scheduled the second attempt at a sale of this ruined company for August 6, and Vladimir Pecikoza, the chairman of the Board of Creditors, says for Novosti that there are several interested purchasers.

A Swiss company had had long negotiations with the state, but finally gave up on the purchase for unknown reasons, they report. According to the Belgrade-based newspaper’s findings, a purchaser from Russia now wants to start the pharmaceutical business in the town on the Begej.

It remains to be seen how much money the Russian investor is prepared to offer and what kind of a deal it intends to make regarding the permit for the marketing of medicines. Around 2,500 small shareholders, who believe that their shares will not remain worthless pieces of paper, also want Jugoremedija to get a new owner.
