MALI: Surplus in the first half of 2018 at RSD 30.9 billion

Serbian Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali told Tanjug that the budget surplus in June amounted to RSD 22.1 billion and that the total surplus in the first half of the year stood at RSD 30.9 billion, as reported on the website of the Ministry of Finance.

– The finances of the Republic of Serbia remain stable, and the surplus, which we've had for some time now, means more investments, further development of the economy and new jobs. Our aim is to keep investing in infrastructure, innovations and the IT sector. This is what we're fighting for and what will make for a better and stronger Serbia – Mali pointed out and specified that the total regular income in June amounted to RSD 129.3 billion, whereas the expenditures amounted to RSD 99 billion.

When it comes to income tax revenues, they amount to RSD 4.5 billion in June, whereas the VAT recovery in the same month amounts to RSD 20.7 billion.

Mali also pointed out that the growth of the gross domestic product (GDP) in the first four months of the current year had amounted to 4.6% compared to the corresponding period in 2017, calling it a great success.

– Serbia has a much bigger growth than the average growth in the region and in the European Union. This means that our economy has finally started developing, and our best results are in construction, commerce, information and communications. Our desire is to use the potential of the IT sector, which can be the driving engine of the entire economy, even more in the future – Mali said.
