Negotin-based "Feniks" produce caviar, entire production exported to USA

Caviar from Negotin was made in the units of fishponds and spawning place of private company “Feniks”, owned by Stanko Birucić.

The first confirmations of the quality of the Negotin caviar arrived from Switzerland and USA, where entire selected production of about 140 kg was sold. Recently, another 123 kg of caviar was delivered to Miami. This caviar was sent to American market through company "Optimus inc" from Florida. "Feniks" signed the contract with "Optimus inc" on sale of 600 kg of caviar.

Stanko Birucić commenced realization of this project back in 2001 when he built spawning place for beluga, first of the kind in Serbia, in accordance with the world standards. He invested over € 150,000 in production of caviar. This company is the only manufacturer of caviar in Serbia. It was extremely hard to master the secret recipe and the way in which it is prepared, but the help came from the friends from Russia and from the internet. "Feniks" plans to stock the Danube river with the fish in the future.

Beluga, two times a year, arrives from the Black Sea via the Danube to hydroelectric power station “Đerdap-2”, and, just between the dam and port of Prahovo, it found the cleanest water and the most favorable conditions for spawning,. Private company "Feniks" uses artificial insemination for breeding of this fish.
