“Monterra“ in Pančevo – Development of modern sports hall ”Bagremar“

Company “Monterra“ Ltd. is the head contractor for the works on development of a modern multifunctional sports hall at the location of Bagremar in Pančevo, which will be financed by the Directorate for Organization and Development of Pančevo. The sports hall, which is already called “Bagremar” by the public, will represent a real pride of the citizens of Pančevo because it is an exceptional facility that “Monterra“ builds according to the highest standards and technologies of construction of such type of facilities. As the experts from Monterra pointed out for eKapija, 20 subcontractors will be working on this facility, while the value of works amounts to 260m RSD.

Severin Samardžić, the Manager of High-rise Building Sector in ”Monterra“, says that Monterra is very proud of its participation in this project.

- This project represents an exceptionally good reference for our company. Special challenge is the work on the constructive system of the hall and pyramidal roof structure made of laminated wood, the material that has been rarely used over the last 15 years although it looks very attractive on such facilities. In our business, especially when it comes to “Bagremar“, the challenge is to bring all potential collaborators in accord. Total of 20 subcontractors have been hired, and our aim was to gather top experts to work on the project, with the support from Monterra’s engineering team and the Sector for organization and technology of development – Samardžić explains.

Samardžić says that the sports hall will be the facility with a square base. The facility’s dimensions are 80 x 80 meters, while the useful surface of the hall with technical premises amounts to 6,940 square meters. The hall will be multifunctional (sports and cultural contents) and it will be able to hold between 500 and 2,000 spectators, depending on the needs. Either prefabricated telescopic stands or fixed seats will be used for that purpose.

- Business and comercial space in the facility occupies 1,180 square meters and it will represent a supplement to the contents that can be compatible with its purpose: sports gear stores, travel agencies, catering services, general-purpose office space, etc. Construction of a small hall, gym, firing range, table tennis hall, bawling room, café bar, clinic, catering contents, is also in the pipeline. The project will respect all standards for indoor sports. We can say that the floor will be covered with parquet –Samardžić explained in the interview for eKapija.

This ambitious construction started in May 2008 and, if everything goes as planned, it will last prior to May 2009.
