German company Hydroweb, a producer of equipment for the car industry, medicine and the construction industry, will have the land taken away from it that was given without compensation by the Town Council for the construction of a plant in Jagodina and the employment of workers, as it had failed to do anything since the signing of the agreement two years ago, Blic reports, citing Tanjug.

The decision was reached by the Town Council, and the final word will be given by the members of the Town Assembly at a session on June 4.

The decision pertains to “the repeal of the decision on the alienation of real estate without compensation through a direct agreement with a feasibility study in favor of the investor Hydroweb”, the Town Council told Tanjug.

The land has 22,344 square meters, is located in the Industrial Zone and features fully developed infrastructure. A plant with 4,000 square meters should have been built on it. The agreement on the construction of the plant, worth EUR 20 million, was signed in December 2016.

– The investor's obligation was to provide a banking guarantee in the amount of RSD 1,576,435, in line with an estimate by the state tax institution, collectible by the town, to employ 50 workers from the town's territory in the first phase of the realization of the project, from the moment it starts operating, to start building the facility within six months of the signing of the contract and to have the facility completed within two years and to not alienate it for at least three years following the initiation of the production – the decision says.

As the investor has failed to adhere to the agreement, the town council decided to take away the land. Hydroweb was supposed to tie its production in Jagodina to the local Italian company Andrea Confezioni, in the production of car covers.

The town council and the town assembly took away parcels for the construction of plants from the companies Savio Firmino, Blue Wood Energy, Ittech Triade and Sintec Serbia this January for the same reason.
