Serbia continues rehabilitation of roads and enhancement of traffic safety from EBRD loan – Procurement procedures to take place in 2018 and 2019

Serbia continues to realize projects of road rehabilitation and safety using the proceeds of the EBRD loan, secured in 2013. A general procurement notice was published regarding the procurement procedures for realization of activities in 2018 and 2019.

Tendering for the following contracts is expected to begin in the second half of 2018: Heavy Maintenance (Road Rehabilitation-Upgrading) of the State Road IB 35, Section: Zajecar 5 - Knjazevac 1 (Trgoviste) and the State Road IB 15, Lot 1: Kula (Backa Topola) - Vrbas (Savino Selo), and Lot 2: Vrbas (Zmajevo) - Srbobran (Feketic).

Tendering for the following contracts is expected to begin in 2019: Pavement rehabilitation-upgrading on the State Roads IB 14 and IB 33, Section: Border of APV (Kovin) - Ralja - Pozarevac (Orljevo), the section Razanj 1 (highway) - Paracin 1 (highway) and the section Aleksinac 1 (highway) - Razanj 1 (highway).

The plan for the same period also includes pavement rehabilitation-upgrading on the section Ruma 1 (highway) - Pecinci 1 (highway), Ruma 1 (highway) - Sremska Mitrovica (highway), Razanj 1 (highway) - Aleksinac 1 (highway) and Brestovac 1 (highway) - Doljevac 1 (highway).

Interested suppliers, contractors and consultants from any country may apply and should contact the Public Enterprise "Roads of Serbia".

The project consists of two parts, and the total costs have been estimated at over EUR 390 million, of which the EBRD loan amounts to EUR 100 million.


Part A, which will be financed by the EBRD, includes implementation of civil works for the purpose of rehabilitation and safety improvement on selected road sections, whereas Part B will be co-financed by the World Bank (WB), the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Republic of Serbia and will cover the realization of Road Rehabilitation and Safety Investments, Institutional Strengthening, Project Detailed Design, Project Supervision, Project Management, Project Monitoring and Audits.
