RZD International interested in construction of railway to Belgrade Airport

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction Zorana Mihajlovic talked today with General Director of RZD International, Sergey Pavlov, about the realization of projects and new common projects of Serbia and Russian railway authorities, among them the construction of the railway to the Nikola Tesla Airport.

Mihajlovic said that the projects realized until then were an example of successful cooperation and that she expected the cooperation to continue with new common projects.

The works carried out by the Russian company on the reconstruction and modernization on the Stara Pazova-Novi Sad section, located on the future high-speed railway Belgrade-Budapest, a part of the global Chinese project Belt and Road, were also discussed at the meeting.

Also, there was talk about potential new projects in Serbia, in which RZD International is interested, including the construction of the railway to the Nikola Tesla Airport and the construction of a new rail dispatch center.

Pavlov expressed satisfaction with the cooperation within the realization of the loan of the Russian Federation for the modernization of Serbian railways, as well as the readiness of the Russian company to get involved in new projects in Serbia, the ministry announced.
