Romania's Hidroelectrica is considering the purchase of wind farms and solar facilities at home, but also the purchase of energy companies abroad, Bogdan Badea, said the director of this state company, Bogdan Badea.

As Ziarul Financiar reports, Hidroelectrica also plans to open offices for trade of electrical energy in Hungary and Serbia. The biggest producer of hydropower in Romania, as said, intends to open an office in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, in September.

Due diligence is in progress in several wind farms in Romania, Badea said and added that the idea was for Hidroelectrica to diversify its production portfolio, in which green energy can be integrated quite successfully. The company has capacities for balancing services, Badea said, as reported by Romanian media.

He said that Hidroelectrica was also analyzing the purchase of companies outside Romania.

In 228 hydro power plants, with installed capacity of 3,444 MW, the company produces an average of 17 TWh of electrical energy each year.
