Second tender for sale of "Mostogradnja" declared unsuccessful
The Privatization Agency of Serbia has declared the second tender for sale of 53.3% of stocks of Mostogradnja as unsuccessful because the only bidder failed to meet the requirements for participation in the tender.
The tender documentation was bought by five companies, while only one of them - the consortium made of companies “Pillar“ from Kragujevac and “Zarubezhstroytechnology“ from Russia – submitted a bid.
According to the announcement, the deadline for submission of acceptable auction guarantee and the rest of the required documentation was extended three times, but the only bidder failed to submit them prior to the expiration of the last deadline – December 31, 2008.
The tender documentation was procured by companies "Strabag" from Austria, "Grupul imobiliar trustee" from Romania, "Fengrove traders limited" from Cyprus and PZP from Niš.
The second tender for sale of "Mostogradnja" was announced in July 2008.
The first tender for sale of "Mostogradnja" was announced in November 2007 and it was unsuccessful because there were no obligatory bids on the tender, although the tender documentation was bought by Belgrade-based company “Alpine” and Austrian "Strabag".
According to the website of the Privatization Agency, "Mostogradnja" was founded in 1945 and it is one of the leading companies in the domain of civil engineering in Serbia. This company has built over 2,200 bridges 250 km long, over 250 kilometers of sewerage network and about 300 halls.
It has 1,443 workers and it ended year 2007 with 8m EUR worth of losses.
