EPS opens tender for construction of two SHPPs Celije and Rovni – Applications by July 2

Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) has opened a tender for the construction of two small hydro power plants (SHPPs), Celije, near Krusevac, and Rovni, near Valjevo, on the existing dams.

The investment is part of the Program for Reconstruction of SHPPs, for which a loan of EUR 37 million was approved for EPS in 2012 by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), reports Balkan Green Energy News.

In addition to the construction, the job entails the delivery of electromechanical equipment (including turbines) and its installation. The agreement is expected to be signed in the third quarter of 2018, and the deadline for the completion of the job is 62 weeks, as stated in the tender documentation, available on EPS' website.

The bid submission deadline is July 2.

The Program for Reconstruction of SHPPs includes the procurement of works and services for 15 SHPPs and the construction of two on existing dams.

The first tender for the rehabilitation of SHPPs was opened by EPS in January, and the second one in May 2017.

As EPS told eKapija in early 2018, the reconstruction entails the replacement or revitalization of electromechanical and hydromechanical equipment on the existing generators, as well as the installation of additional generators, along with the accompanying construction works.

This is just one of the projects in a big investment cycle initiated by EPS, which is to continue developing throughout 2018 with the aim of enhancing the company's business and securing its future.
