Public call for tender for Karadjordjeva street reconstruction - Applications deadline June 6

Belgrade Land Development Public Agency issued a call for tender for the reconstruction of Karadjordjeva Street and Savski Kej from Brankov Bridge up to Paris Street. Expected value of total construction work is RSD 1 billion, Beoinfo reports.

The public call states that the construction firms can send their offers till June 6.

- The plan for Karadjordjeva Street is to build a new tram construction up to the Kalemegdan turntable, repair the main road, build pedestrian and cycle tracks and Savski Kej reconstructions over an 1 ha area includes playground construction, paving ,landscaping , city lights repair, new city furniture and bike track, said the city manager Goran Vesic.

He added that the tram tracks after Brankov Bridge will be moved towards Sava River, which will create more space for pedestrians beside the existing objects and the city vehicles will still use one main line on each side of the tram garden.

- Other public transport vehicles will also use this tram route in order to rationally use all traffic areas and improve traffic flow with maximally taking care of all traffic participants, Vesic emphasized.

Also in the plans is a place for couch busses right next to the main road around the zone of Harbour's Master's Office that will transport passengers from tourist ships in the harbour to town centre is in the plan

- Savski Kej reconstruction from Brankov Bridge to the end of Beton Hala includes landscaping the parks, sidewalks, building a playground and a bike track. On the Kej over more than 10 a of land we will plant a lawn, more than 40 new trees and several hundred seedling of decorative bushes and plants, Vesic pointed out.

Irrigation and wastewater drainage will require more than two thousand meters of infrastructure ducts.
