Construction of Preljina-Pozega section to begin no later than March 2019 – Ladjevci to become civilian-military airport

The works on the Preljina-Pozega highway section will begin in the final quarter of 2018 or by March 1, 2019, at the latest, says Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic.

Mihajlovic also adds that a total of 103 kilometers of the highway on Corridor 11 will be completed this year, the ministry announced.

Talking about the strategic projects for Cacak and the Moravica District, Mihajlovic also said that the spatial plan for the Pojate-Preljina highway, that is, the Morava Corridor, should be amended in May and that an American and a Chinese company were interested in the project at the moment.

She also announced that the Morava Airport in Ladjevci would become a mixed, civilian-military airport in the next few months, and that the pertinent decision had already been adopted by the government, the enforcement of which requires the carrying out of certain administrative procedures with the Ministry of Defense.

– After that, we will make projections for passenger and cargo transport together with representatives of the district and the local self-governments. Our interest is to further develop this airport, at which the operator will be the company Airports of Serbia, once it becomes a mixed airport – Mihajlovic added.

She also said that the preparations for the continuation of reconstruction of the Bar railway were in progress and specified that the project-technical documentation was to be prepared in 2018 and that the works might start in 2019.

– The Bar railway, that is, the railway Corridor 11, along with the modernization of the remaining sections on the railway Corridor 10, are a priority when it comes to railway transport – Mihajlovic said.
