Chinese planning construction of tire factory in Serbia – Linglong prepared to invest EUR 400 million?

The Chinese producer of tires Linglong has been looking for a location for its European facility for a year now, and Serbia has the best chance of the four countries being considered, Novosti writes in today's issue.

According to the newspaper's findings, the Chinese giant is still negotiating with Serbian institutions, and the investment would amount to EUR 400 million.

– It is true that Linglong is interested in investing in Serbia, but the final decision is not yet known – say the sources of Novosti familiar with this industry.

The newspaper writes that the Chinese company's plan is for 10 million tires for passenger vehicles, 2 million for cargo vehicles and 10,000 for all-terrain vehicles to be produced at the new factory each year.

That Linglong was thinking about Serbia was heard about a year ago. Ambassador of China Li Manchang announced last June that a big tire producer from the country might arrive to Serbia.
