From Communis to Communication – Belgrade International Architecture Week from May 10 through 31

“From Communis to Communication” is the theme of the 13th Belgrade International Architecture Week, which will be held from May 10 through 31, 2018.

As the organizers announced, this is about communications in architecture, communicating through architecture and the spreading of the ideas about the relations and the city spaces. Communis means "common, community and sharing" and communicare "to do something in common". Architecture and architects representing the public interest, improving communities and communicativeness stimulate development of space, social processes and cities.

The program includes exhibits, lectures, workshops for children and students, city walks, communication with prominent local, European and world experts, presentation of modern materials and technologies, as well as an occasional venture into other media through the presentation of architecture through music at BINA Docomomo concerts. After a presentation in Belgrade, BINA exhibits travel to other cities in Serbia and the region: Nis, Novi Sad, Vranje, Valjevo, Zrenjanin...

BINA 2018 is organized by the Union of Architects of Serbia and the Cultural Center of Belgrade and is sponsored by the Secretariat for Culture of the City of Belgrade, the Ministry of Culture, the Engineering Chamber of Serbia and the Creative Europe program.
