Serbia and South Korea to enhance cooperation in energy – Visit of Korean delegation in May

Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic talked with the ambassador of South Korea to Serbia, Yoo Dae Jong, about the economic cooperation between the two countries on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, as reported on the government's website.

Antic expressed interest in cooperation with South Korean companies, especially those from the energy sector, keeping in mind that a representation of the Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) opened in Serbia in 2015.

He said that the project to be realized in Serbia in the future could be very attractive to South Korean investors and that the existence of an organization such as KOTRA was a comparative advantage in any case.

South Korean companies could find their place in these projects, especially since they own modern technology and are able to bring it to Serbia, the minister pointed out.

The ambassador of South Korea announced a visit by a delegation of the Ministry of Energy of South Korea for this May. The delegation will feature representatives of several companies, potential partners in the field of energy.

– This will provide us with an opportunity to define potential formats of cooperation with Korea Electric Power Corporation, as this company has considerable experience, is among the leading companies in the world and has the largest green climate fund at its disposal – Antic pointed out.

As he said, they are interested in taking part in developing and implementing projects related to climate changes and environmental protection.
