Zumtobel plant in Nis to be built by September 2018

Austria’s Zumtobel Group is continuing the construction of the production facility in Nis, at which 1,100 people are to be employed, and the works are expected to be completed in September 2018, the company announced today.

– The new factory will make its first products in the financial year 2018/19. The production facility will take up 40,000 square meters, and the total investment will amount to EUR 30.6 million – the press release says.

The foundation stone for this plant was laid down in the summer of 2017, and an important milestone in the development of this greenfield location of Zumtobel in Nis, as announced, was achieved in late March 2018 – all the earth works, structural foundations and the works on the external steel and concrete structure were completed.


In the next phase, ass announced, Zumtobel will focus on building the production sections of the new factory, so that the production might start in line with the business plan.

Let us remind that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced earlier that the Zumtobel plant would open in June 2018.
