State sets aside 1.1m EUR to reduce pollution in Bor

- Republic of Serbia will emergently set aside 1.1m EUR for refurbishment of generator in Smelter and Copper Refinery in Bor in order to reduce air pollution - said the Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, Oliver Dulić, in Bor.

- In order to prevent emission of sulfur dioxide into air, the state will emergently set aside 1.1m EUR. Total of 60m RSD will be set aside from the National Investment Plan, while the rest will be provided from the Environment Protection Fund - said Dulić.

Dulić also said that another three air pollution measuring stations would be installed prior to year 2009, as well as that the sustainable development strategy for Bor would be designed.


According to his words, that will be entrusted to the Ministry of Environment Protection, while the municipal management and non-government organizations will participate in the design of the strategy.
