THE AWAKENING OF SERBIA
1.day Departure from Novi Sad/Belgrade at 8a.m.and drive near the slopes of Mountain Kosmaj, arrival in Arandjelovac, visit the Bukovicka Banja Spa wellknown by its own mineralwater sources… Walk down the Spa park, lunch in hotel IZVOR. Drive to Topola and visit to The Oplenac Complex Church, Mausoleum of St.George, the foundation of The Royal Dinasty, the place with relics of the Great Karadjordje I and other members of Karadjordjevic Family, Museum of Petar I Karadjordjevic.. In the afternoon departure to Velika Plana. Accommodation in hotel PLANA, dinner, overnight.
2. day Breakfast.Whole day trip to the Radovanjski Lug, the place where The Great Karadjordje was murdered. In authentical nature environtment the actors perform the play “Karadjordje koje kude”. Lunch in authentical cottage. Departure in the afternoon hours to the Monastery Koporin, the foundation of Ruler Stefan Lazarevic, built in 1402. Arriv al in hotel, visit to the Church Pokajnica, nearby. Dinner, overnight.
3. day Breakfast. Departure from hotel at 8 am and drive to Despotovac, visit to the Monastery Manasija, the foundation of the Ruler Stefan Lazarevic, from the beginning of 15th century.The rampart which stands around the monastery is the unique example of the Middle age architecture with eleven tours, surrounded by canal. The church built in Orthodox Moravian style, rich fresco painted, was the cultural center of those times.Continue drive to the Resava Cave, visit one of the most beautiful caves in Europe, located on the northern side of karst field Divljakovac. Departure to Lisine, wellknown place in the untouched nature environment, luch in restaurant known by fish specialities. Afternoon departure to Jagodina and accommodation in Hotel EPOS, dinner,overnight.
4. day Breakfast, departure from Hotel at 9am and drive across Rekovac and Belusic to the Monastery Kalenic, that lies in the beautiful valley between colourfull hills, far away from all roads. The Monastery Kalenic is probably the most beautiful and best preserved example of Moravian architecture style from the beginning of 15th century, the foundation of Stefan Lazarevic. Visit of the church, monastery treasury and temporary lodgement. Near the monastery there is the Museum of Naive painters and collection. The most famous naïve painter is Janko Brasic, born near the Monastery Kalenic, in village Oparic. Continue to the Church Preradovac, built on the remnants of former church from 15th century. Lunch cooked by local nuns in original Orthodox style. Return to Jagodina. Dinner, overnight.
5. day Breakfast, departure to the Monastery Josanica, the foundation of Czar Lazar built in 14th century. Return to Jagodina and visit of the Naïve Gallery with arts from past time done by local naïve painters. Lunch in restaurant with national specialities. Return to Belgrade/Novi Sad in the evening. End of programme.
