The City Council of Zrenjanin reached the decision yesterday on the sale of seven hectares of urban building land in Industrial Zone Southeast 1 to the South Korean company Essex Balkan for EUR 242,000.

The full market price of these three parcels is EUR 580,000, but the amount was reduced with consent of the Government of Serbia.

Mayor of Zrenjanin Cedomir Janjic said that the South Korean company would invest EUR 30 million in the construction of the facility and employ 160 to 170 people.

– We will sign the contract very soon and the construction of the facility is to start shortly – the mayor told the press.

Let us remind that the South Korean company Essex, a producer of enameled copper wires and cable products, recently announced that it should start building a production facility in Zrenjanin in March.
