The investors from Turkey visited the premises and the halls of the former company Novo Gucevo in Donje Naselje, where the Turkish company, if all goes according to plan, might begin its operations and employ 300 people as soon as this September.
– The first visit included the closest associates, and now the owner himself has visited us as well, as he wanted to see what the conditions are like and what we are prepared to do as a local self-government to facilitate the company's potential arrival. We discussed all the important questions, the technical conditions, workforce capacities, the required number of workers and the required qualifications, the conditions the state and the municipality offer in terms of tax exemptions and other allowances and other important topics. The next day, we visited Belgrade, where we were hosted by Minister Rasim Ljajic, who also emphasized the state's readiness to support the project important for Podrinje and the entire region, as the Turkish company would produce textile as the raw material for other clothing plants. This would make it a unique factory in Serbia – Jevtic told Loznicke Novosti.
He explains that the investor needs premises of around 3,000 m2 with a production facility, where 300 workers from the municipality, of various education degrees, might be employed in September, whereas the construction of a washroom and the employment of another 200 workers would follow in 2019.
Jevtic reminds that the said activities will be preceded by the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Municipality of Mali Zvornik, the Republic of Serbia and the investor, specifying in detail the obligations of all parties, and adds that the plan is for this to happen in early March.
– We are now to carry out the activities related to the purchase of a section of the land needed for the extension of the parcel where the facility of the Turkish company is to open. I hope that we will sign the Memorandum of Cooperation in early March, which will mean that the agreement has been reached and that we are to start the procedure of creating the conditions for the arrival of the investor and the opening of the factory. This will be an important piece of news for the citizens, as this is a serious employer, who will need both workers with vocational degrees and university-educated workers, not just textile workers, but also technologists, economists...
As for the future factory premises, the municipality is ready to purchase a part of the land and the hall of the former sawmill in Donje Naselje and adapt them for the investor.
– If the purchase of this parcel proves to be unfeasible for whatever reason, we will seek other potential solutions, one of which is the purchase of land in the industrial zone and the construction of an adequate hall – Jevtic explains.
Maydenim Tekstil operates globally, and the need for the opening of the facility in Mali Zvornik has been caused by an increased workload and market expansion. The company would be producing various types of textile for the manufacture of final products at the facility.
