Construction of bus station in Block 42 to begin on February 27 – Building permit issued

(Future look of bus station in Block 42) The building permit for the construction of the bus station in Block 42 was issued on Friday, February 23, said Mayor of Belgrade Sinisa Mali, as reported by Beoinfo.

He pointed out that the works on the construction of the bus station will begin on Tuesday, February 27.

– The construction starts on Tuesday. The new bus station, the construction of which will cost EUR 25 million, will be built in 18 months. When the station starts operating, the traffic will be considerably unloaded, as 1,200 bus departures will be moved from the center of the city. This is a unique bus station in Europe, because it will accommodate inter-city, inter-municipality, tourist and international transport. It will be a new symbol of Belgrade – Mali said.

He added that the new station will have around 13,000 square meters, 130 platforms and at least another 53 parking spaces for buses.

The City of Belgrade has provided the land, whereas the company Belgrade Bus Station will finance the construction of the station.
