Stronger cooperation of Serbia and Northern Caucasus region in fields of innovation and technological development

The minister without a portfolio in charge of innovation and technological development at the Government of Serbia, Nenad Popovic, talked with the minister for Northern Caucasus at the Government of the Russian Federation, Lev Kuznetsov, about the cooperation in the fields of innovation and technological development, as reported on the website of the Government of Serbia.

Popovic said on the occasion that there was great potential for cooperation of Serbia and the seven regions of Northern Caucasus in the development of innovations in the fields of agriculture, medicine, construction and tourism.

The territory of Northern Caucasus is one of the regions where the biggest investments in Russia in the next several years are to be realized, he said and added that Serbia wanted to establish a closer cooperation with this territory on all levels, “as this is an opportunity for us to increase the export and secure new jobs”.

The minister especially highlighted the importance of cooperation between Serbian and Russian scientists and researchers, as well as innovative startups from Northern Caucasus.

– We want a stronger cooperation between our technological and IT companies, which are the carriers of the future economic development based on innovations and digitalization – Popovic underlined.
