Fifty-one requests for IPARD funds sent so far – Next contest in March

Since mid-December 2017, funds from the EU’s IPARD program have been available to agriculturists in Serbia. A total of 51 requests have been sent so far, of which 15 for machines and 35 for tractors. The deadline for submitting the documentation is February 26.

– A contest for processing, where agriculturists will be able to apply for funds to be used for construction of facilities and procurement of machines, will open in March – Minister of Agriculture Branislav Nedimovic told Novosti.

– There will be five more calls by the end of the year, which makes up a total of 7 for 2018. This year, EUR 50 million is available to agriculturists from the IPARD fund. These are the long-awaited pre-accession funds of the EU meant for agriculture in the amount of EUR 175 million in grants for the period up till 2020.

As the Ministry of Agriculture announced previously, the amount of incentives from the EU funds is 60 to 80% of the amount of investments, depending on the age of the agriculturist and the location of the farm. The money can be used for production and processing of fruit, vegetables and other crops, in the amount of 5,000 to 7,000 euros, whereas an amount of 5,000 to a million euros can be counted on for production and processing of milk and meat.

Those listed in the Farms Register, with an active status, have the right to apply for the IPARD incentives. These are carriers of commercial family farms, entrepreneurs, companies and agricultural cooperatives.

Funds cannot be allocated if taxes and contributions have not been paid to the state. Furthermore, the accounts may not be blocked for over 30 days in the period of 12 months before the date of the filing of the request. All this needs to be supported with adequate documentation, issued by state institutions.
