The Government of Montenegro decided last week to carry out an ecological reconstruction of TPP Pljevlja by 2021 as part of the measures within its decision to stop cooperating with the Czech company Skoda Praha on the project of the construction of Unit II at TPP Pljevlja.
TPP does not meet the requirements pertaining to threshold values of emission of nitrogen and sulfur oxides, the criteria of the quality of waste waters discharged into waterways or the threshold values of emission of solid particles.
– The object of the preliminary project is extension and reconstruction of the technological systems of the TPP. This entails new smoke gas desulfuring systems (DeSOx) and a reduction of the amount of nitrogen oxides in smoke gases (DeNOx), an extension of the existing electro-filtering facility and the waste water treatment facility, as well as reconstruction of the cooling tower, along with the removal of asbestos materials, and the system of internal transport of ash and slag – the documentation says.
The preliminary project should also feature a backup fuel system with a backup boiler room, replacement of mazut with light fuel oil, an extension and a new set of measures of noise protection and a new heat source system for the heating of the town of Pljevlja.
