Taxes on motor vehicles, watercraft, aircraft and arms adjusted

New values of taxes on motor vehicles, watercraft, aircraft and registered arms are in effect since January 1, 2018.

The automatic rifle tax now amounts to RSD 13,280, an increase by RSD 360 compared to last year's RSD 12,920. The semi-automatic rifle tax is RSD 5,330, an increase by RSD 150. The tax on arms for personal safety for which ownership permits are issued now amounts to RSD 3,600, an increase by RSD 100. If a bearing permit is issued as well, the tax is RSD 17,940, an increase by RSD 490 from last year's RSD 17,450.

The tax on usage of motor vehicles is paid for a period of one year and amounts to RSD 1,270 for passenger vehicles with up to 1.15 liters of cylinder capacity, RSD 2,480 for vehicles with up to 1.3 l and RSD 5,470 for vehicles with 1.3 to 1.6 liters of cylinder capacity.

The tax on motor vehicles with 1.6 to 2 liters of cylinder capacity is RSD 11,210, whereas the tax on motor vehicles with 2 to 2.5 l amounts to RSD 55,380. Owners of vehicles with 2.5 to 3 liters of cylinder capacity will now pay the tax of RSD 112,220, whereas the tax on vehicles with over 3 liters of cylinder capacity amounts to RSD 231,930. The said amounts do not calculate in deductions.

However, taxes on motor vehicles older than five years are lowered. The reduction amounts to 15% for vehicles five to eight years old, 25% for those eight to ten years old and 40% for vehicles older than 10 years. The tax on motor vehicles older than 20 years are paid in the amount of 20% of the prescribed tax.
