Matijevic to have cooling plant built in Zrenjanin – New fruit plantations planned as well

(IM Matijevic plans new sour cherry plantations in Zrenjanin) The construction of a new industrial facility will soon start in the industrial zone Northwest Elemir in Zrenjanin, and the investor is one of the biggest local companies – IM Matijevic.

As Dnevnik learns from reliable sources, Matijevic will have its facility built in the Zrenjanin industrial zone on the left side of the road to Elemir, behind the facility of the company Geze. The investor has allegedly prepared the paperwork and will soon start obtaining the permits and raising the facility.

The facility in question is a cooling plant with 12,000 tons of capacity, featuring sectors for the deep freezing of fruit using a special technology. The company also plans to have new fruit plantations on around 1,000 hectares, of which 300 ha of orchards will be located in the territory of the City of Zrenjanin.


Sour cherry is to be grown in Zrenjanin, according to the Novi Sad daily.
