The Explanation, which will be submitted to the relevant institutions, says that legal persons and entrepreneurs may issue invoices in paper or electronic form.
The key clarification pertains to the fact that it is not mandatory to print out an invoice originally created in electronic form nor to stamp a printed out document in order for it to be deemed valid.
An electronic invoice is valid in electronic form, without a signature and a stamp, does not have to be printed out and does not have to be sent by mail, it is said.
An invoice originally created in paper form does not have to contain a stamp and a signature by a the responsible party. Also, an invoice originally created in electronic form or through digitization does not have to feature an electronic signature.
Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated on this occasion that the implementation of this regulation eliminated considerable unnecessary costs and facilitated business and emphasized that saving money, paper and time meant a quicker, more efficient and rational business, in line with modern standards, the website of the Government of Serbia says.
