The first rehabilitation stage at Ram fortress finishes

(Ram fortress) After six months of intense work, the fourth stage of archaeological research and the first stage of reconstruction of this facility at the coast of the Danube, Regional Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of Smederevo communicated.
The restoration of the fortress was primarily directed at the reconstruction of three towers and four wall-to-wall canopies, Podunavlje.info reports.The same material was used for the restoration of Ram Fortress as for its construction - a stone from a local quarry, an old-fashioned brick, and lime mortar.
Turkish company ABMA Restaurasion was in charge of restauration with the conservation Supervision of the Regional Institute of Smederevo, and according to the project of Renovation of Ram Fortress that was designed by ANB Mimarlik Musavirlik Insaat ve Ticaret LTD from Ankara. Funds were provided by the Turkish Agency for International Development and Cooperation (TIKA).
It is planned that the works will continue in the spring and to end until the end of the construction season in 2018, according to the Regional Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of Smederevo.
