Serbian companies contract jobs worth EUR 2 million at food industry fair in Indija

The companies from Serbia which took part in the international food industry fair World Food India 2017 have contracted new exporting jobs worth around EUR 2 million according to initial analyses. Representatives of Serbian companies had more than 600 bilateral talks and meetings with potential partners from India and companies from the UAE, and the biggest interest was shown in the export of fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables, the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia reported.

– A great interest in products from Serbia was noticed at the fair in New Delhi, which is also shown by a large number of talks and meetings with companies, representatives of the state and professional organizations. India is a huge market with a big potential for cooperation, and successful examples of certain companies from Serbia which have found partners and are doing business in this country show that it is possible to realize significant results – said Veljko Jovanovic, director of the Sector of Agriculture of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS).

Ten companies from Serbia presented their production programs for the first time, from November 3 through 5, at World Food India 2017, on two national stands, and their presentation was organized by the CCIS and the Development Agency of Serbia.

Producers of fresh, frozen or dried fruit All Berries, Mirax Agrar, Sirogojno Company, ITN Group, Lucic-Prigrevica and Elixir Food, producer of packaged food, soups and spices Yumis, producer of biscuits Koncern Bambi and Agranela and the Maize Research Institute Zemun Polje took part in the New Delhi event.
