Nutella has confirmed that it has changed the recipe of its famous chocolate spread, which hasn't been welcomed by the fans.

The Hamburg Consumer Protection Centre announced that a Nutella jar now contains 8.7% of skimmed milk, where it used to contain 7.5%. The company says that the percentage of sugar has been increased as well, from 55.9% to 56.3%.

– The quality and all the other characteristics of Nutella remain the same – the company says and adds that these are usual changes that other producers make all the time.

However, the consumer protection center points out that the spread is now lighter in hue and suspects that the changes have been made at the expense of the percentage of cocoa in Nutella, which Ferrero is not obligated to disclose.
