GSP Belgrade opens tender for repainting buses red

The public transport enterprise GSP Belgrade has opened a tender for painting 200 Solaris vehicles, as well as an additional 55 Ikarbus vehicles. They are all to be repainted red.

The contractor will, as stated in the documentation, have do to the job in line with the standards of the vehicle producers and is to deliver the 200 red buses in 13 rounds – eight in the first one and 16 in each successive one.

The problem with repainting the Solaris buses was the guarantee, which required them to keep their original color, but also the price of the job. As once revealed by the head of GSP Belgrade, Zeljko Milkovic, it costs from 1,800 to as much as 5,500 euros (for Solaris vehicles) to repaint a bus.

The repainting of the 200 Polish buses might therefore cost the biggest public transporter in Belgrade EUR 1.1 million, Blic writes.

Nevertheless, as the newspaper adds, the steep price for Solaris vehicles pertained to painting at the Solaris facilities, whereas painting here could cost RSD 300,000 to 350,000, or around EUR 2,500 to 3,000.
