Winter flight schedule begins at Nikola Tesla Airport on October 29

The winter flight schedule at the Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport began on Sunday, October 29, 2017, and will last until Saturday, March 24, 2018.

As stated in the press release by the Belgrade Airport, during the winter season, 26 airlines will provide direct flights to 62 destinations in 36 states on 4 continents.

According to the announcement, the national airline Air Serbia will continue the flights to Venice it initiated in the summer season, whereas the number of weekly flights to Zurich will be increased by one.

The Chinese company Hainan Airlines will continue carrying out 2 flights a week to Beijing, through Prague. Furthermore, Transavia Airlines will continue carrying out 3 flights a week to Amsterdam, and the number of flights will double beginning with late February. Turkey's AtlasGlobal will continue flying 5 times a week to the Istanbul Ataturk Airport, whereas the low-cost Wizz Air will continue conducting 2 flights a week to Friedrichshafen, Hanover and Malta, whereas the flights to Nuremberg will be carried out until November 10.

Austrian Airlines will have 21 flights a week to Vienna in the winter season. Qatar Airways will have daily flights to Doha, an increase compared to the previous 3 flights a week, and the airline will also put the biggest capacity aircraft, Airbus A321, into operation. The Romanian TAROM and the low-cost easyJet will increase the number of weekly flights to Bucharest and Geneva by one.


During the winter season, Greece's Aegean Airlines plans to increase its capacities by around 25%, whereas Alitalia and LOT will increase the capacity on flights to Rome and Warsaw by around 20%.

During New Year and Christmas holidays, the period marked by the biggest demand, the national airline will introduce additional flights to 16 destinations in its network, as well as a series of flights to Saint Petersburg. Furthermore, Wizz Air is planning additional flights to Memmingen, Gothenburg, Larnaca, Malmo and the Stockholm Skavsta Airport.

During this year's winter season, two Israeli companies, Israir Airlines and Arkia Israeli Airlines will continue their series of charter flights between Belgrade and Tel Aviv.

A total of 910 return flights a week are planned in the peak winter season, 3.6% more than during the previous one, the press release says.
