The Parliament of Serbia has adopted the Law on ratification of Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) with EU today (September 9, 2008), which defines the terms for free exchange of goods, workers and capital, as well as cooperation in series of fileds – from harmonization of regulations to political dialogue and financial cooperation.

Total of 140 representatives of the governing majority and Liberal Democratic Party voted for ratification of SAA, while 28 representatives of Democratic Party of Serbia and New Serbia voted against ratification.
The representatives of Serbian Radical Party (SRS) did not participate in voting, but they were present in the hall. There were also representatives of the new representative group led by Tomislav Nikolić - "Napred Srbijo" - and they also passed voting.

The Parliament adopted Tomislav Nikolić's amendment that the Law on ratification of the agreement with EU should include the information that Kosovo is a part of Serbia.

The Parliament also adopted the Transient Trade Agreement with EU.
