The first step will be to develop a vaccination program, then to work on animal disease diagnostic methods, and Serbian experts are also to visit the Russian Federal Center.
The signing of this important document, which will enable the enhancement of bilateral, scientific and technological cooperation between the two institutions, was also attended by the provincial secretary for agriculture, water management and forestry, Vuk Radojevic.
– On the one hand, this document should enable the scientific-technological cooperation to serve as a good foundation for joint scientific research, when it comes to the national, but also the international interests – Radojevic pointed out and added that the protocol was also useful for joint applications for international funds to the end of realization of projects of mutual interest for Serbia and the Russian Federation.
The secretary also said that this kind of cooperation should also help harmonize certain regulations and requests in the Russian market, as the Federal Center is a part of Russia's administrative system and the quality control authorities.
Products of animal origin certainly require significant harmonization procedures, as is the case with other agricultural products, where, according to Radojevic, the Novi Sad Scientific Veterinary Institute will give its contribution in order to facilitate the export of products of animal origin in the upcoming period.
The director of the Novi Sad Scientific Veterinary Institute, Miroslav Cirkovic, pointed out that there was a great interest regarding an all-encompassing cooperation with an institution such as the Russian Federal Center from the city of Vladimir. In addition to developing the vaccination program and preventive therapy, the cooperation will also encompass the program of control of products exported to the Russian market from Serbia, as well as harmonization of standards and accreditation. He said that the cooperation should contribute to the education of human resources in Serbia, an improvement in publishing activities, cooperation between local scientists and the possibility of taking part in the realization of technological projects.
