The Chinese-Danish company Healthcare Europe, which produces memory foam and which has been active in the industrial zone in Ruma for two years now, will start building another facility, with 10,000 square meters, in November. The great demand for memory pillows and mattresses, which are ecologically safe, has led the owners to expand the production, for which purpose another EUR 4 million will be invested, as announced by the company's director, Aleksandar Podravac, for Novosti.

The initial 5.6 hectares were given to the investor free of charge, based on a feasibility study of the expropriation of the building land and the plan of employment of 225 workers. Very quickly, Healthcare Europe realized they needed a bigger area and bought another 3.2 hectares of land.

– Annually, we export a million pillows, 120,000 mattresses and 600,000 mattress covers made of memory foam. We currently have 521 employees, and, following the completion of the new facility, another 300 people will be employed – Podravac emphasizes.

The entire project is planned in four stages, and the total investments will amount to EUR 50 million, whereas the total number of employees should be 1,200.
