JOKSIMOVIC: Serbia to open at least five chapters by the end of the year

Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic stated that she expected Serbia to open at least five chapters in the EU accession negotiations before the end of 2017.

– We are fully ready for three chapters by the end of the year: 6 – Company Law, 33 – Financial & Budgetary Provisions and 30 – External Relations. Furthermore, we have also carried out all the accompanying procedures for Chapter 9 – Financial Services these days at government and parliament meetings, and we will soon complete the procedure for Chapter 13 – Fisheries as well – Joksimovic pointed out.

She added that she had talked to ambassadors of European states the previous week in Brussels, presenting the progress made in Chapters 23 and 24, that she had talked to Commissioner Johannes Hahn and the chairman of the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) and rapporteur on Serbia, David Mcallister, and that she had gotten positive signals.
