Tridonic to move production to Serbia – Zumtobel to bring its subsidiary to Nis

The Austrian producer of lighting material Zumtobel is moving the production of its subsidiary Tridonic to Serbia. As announced, the seat of Zumtobel in Dornbirn, will from now on focus on production of lights, whereas the production of components, which is Tridonic's domain, will be moved to Serbia.

It is pointed out that employees of Tridonic in Austria will not be laid off, but moved to the production of lights.

– Employees at Tridonic will be integrated in the production of lights of Zumtobel Group in the next three to four years. The company's central and the development center will remain in Dornbirn. We are thereby clearly showing that we are still loyal to the seat in Dornbirn – said Christian Ranacher of Zumtobel Group.

At the same time, as added, Tridonic's production should gradually move to Nis.

This should reduce production costs and increase competitiveness, especially in the component sector, where the group, as pointed out, is constantly exposed to a strong pressure of prices.
