So far, the center for the presentation of products and production process has opened here. Those interested can visit it freely and get to know the company's activities. They will be given a unique opportunity to get to know the way the factory works and makes its products, how jumpers, vests and other clothing items are produced for the best global brands. Furthermore, interested visitors will be able to try their hand at knitting and sewing using the most modern machinery.
According to the agreement signed with the Ministry of Economy, a total of 1,100 workers will be employed at the company's facilities in Sombor in the next two years, and the investor has received incentives in the amount of EUR 3.4 million.
According to Davor Brecic, company representative, the total estimated value of this giant's investment amounts to EUR 14.3 million. The annual production is expected to reach 2.4 million units.
In the first phase, 300 workers will be employed, and as the training progresses, there will be more opportunities to hire new workforce. The company claims that there are enough orders, but that they lack qualified workforce.
– The Development Agency of Vojvodina has provided us with remarkable support. We can start operating in Zastava-Sepcijalni Automobili without a problem – Brecic points out.
He adds that it is already quite certain that the halls of 2,000 and 3,000 square meters are insufficient for the planned production in Sombor, and the decision on expanding the facility to 12,000 square meters in the Industrial Zone or in the current location will be reached in the upcoming months.
Pretty Group employs a total of 18,000 workers in three continents and is one of the biggest south Asian producers of clothing, with total annual revenues of EUR 160 millions. It operates in Germany and Austria, and its factories are located in Bangladesh and Serbia for now. They get raw materials from Italy, Bulgaria and Turkey, and they produce for a famous client, Novosti reports.
In Serbia, the company is registered as Sombor-based Pretty Sweaters.
