Todoric announced the initiation of all available legal procedures in Croatia and at international authorities for the purpose of “protecting the value of investments in Agrokor, the jobs and the economies of the states the company operates in”.
Ivica Todoric said that, in early 2017, when Agrokor was run by him and his management, the company “had a firm plan for progress and a successful growth and was settling its liabilities towards the creditors in line with its legal obligations”.
The statement adds that, through speculations and inappropriate media actions, the foundation was laid down for attracting political allies, whereas “instead of the facts and the truth, there was an attempt to compare Agrokor to Parmalat, suggesting theft of enormous amounts of money, but now, seven months later, the case is shown to be nothing like Parmalat”.
The founder of Agrokor claims that he and the management signed the activation of Lex Agrokor “under blackmail, pressure, threats, manipulations of law and an unprecedented media lynch”.
According to him, the Government's decision to nationalize Agrokor has caused damage measuring in billions of kunas.
For this reason, in the statement on his blog, Todoric invited the parties in the parliament to summarily form a parliamentary commission which would shed light on the circumstances surrounding Agrokor and determine who is responsible. He believes that the Constitution and the laws of Croatia have been gravely violated and says that only an inspection commission formed by the parliament could provide all answers and provide the names of those responsible, who, according to him, are among the top authorities in the country.
Todoric announces that he will submit all the relevant documents and proofs, and he also says in his statement that he did not make public statements until now because he didn't want to harm the company before a team of legal, financial and other experts determined the facts regarding “the biggest scandal in modern Croatian history”.
