Belgrade Airport looking for consultant for development of new lines

The Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, which had a record monthly number of passengers in August, is looking for a consultant to help it develop new lines in the coming period.

The public invitation for services of consulting and technical support in developing new line is open until October 11, 2017, and the opening of the bids is scheduled for the same date.

As stated in the documentation, the Nikola Tesla Airport aims to become a gateway for the Southeast Europe region for long-route traffic towards North America, China and Australia, to implement new routes towards the Euro-Mediterranean area and to strengthen the transport in the region, among other reasons, in order to “fill up” long routes.

The main competitors in achieving these goals are primarily the Zagreb and Budapest airports. For this reason, it is especially important, in preparing the said study, to provide comparative data for these two airports wherever possible and necessary. It should be noted that the Zagreb Airport has been given for concession. Early this year, they opened a new terminal, which is expected to bring them even better results in the coming period.

– The aim is for us to get a basic document for working on the development of lines in the upcoming years – the documentation specifies.

Let us remind that the first plane on the Beijing-Belgrade route recently landed at the Belgrade Airport, and the establishment of flights between Belgrade and Maribor is expected in early October, after 25 years.

The public invitation for a concessionaire for the Belgrade Airport is currently in progress.
